Inside the New York Tribune: ‘Tribune’ creator, actor on ‘Tribe’ casting process
A new reality television show about the San Luis Obispo Tribunes, starring a Native American actor, is in the works.
The Tribunes are the San Francisco-based indigenous group who have had their lands taken over by the U.S. government for the past 70 years.
The Tribunes’ story is told through the stories of five Native American women and their descendants, who have endured many obstacles to being able to live and work in the San Joaquin Valley.
The tribe was recently awarded the historic San Luis-Oboe Indian Reservation, which includes several historic buildings, and is one of the largest tribes in the U-S.
The cast of the Tribunes reality show has not been announced.
The show will be produced by Tribune Media and is being produced in conjunction with The Tribe, the Native American cultural organization.
The tribe says they are looking for six more people to play Native American characters on the show.
