How to get a good night’s sleep in the Minnesota Star Tribune
Posted December 13, 2018 04:00:10With the snow and sleet falling in Minnesota, it’s not surprising to see the Star Tribune’s holiday edition featuring a list of the top 10 things to do and see this winter.
The first five are all outdoor activities and the list of 10 things not to do in Minnesota is certainly no exception.
We’ll be updating this list as we find new snow, ice and sleeting to add to it.

Here are some other highlights of the list:The Twin Cities will be hosting a variety of snow events this weekend including:• A snowstorm in the Great Smoky MountainsNational Park Service employees will be in the Twin Cities, as well as at the University of Minnesota, to help out with the snow removal.
Snow removal is expected to continue through Friday.• At 8:00 a.m.
Thursday, the University is hosting a snow removal event on campus, featuring snow removal teams from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota DNR, the St. Cloud Fire Department, the Minneapolis Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.• On Saturday, the Twin City Fire Department is hosting an event to help with snow removal from around the Twin River Valley.• A team of snow plow trucks from the City of St. Paul and the Minneapolis Department of Transportation will be at the Minnesota Capitol, with snowplow trucks and snow plows from the DNR and the City, as part of a project to clear snow from the Capitol grounds.
The State Capitol, the Capitol rotunda and the North American Building Museum will be closed for the holidays.
The State Capitol Museum is open.
In St. Peter, Minnesota, the North St. Charles County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help with the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day snow removal in the city.
The City of Duluth, Minnesota is taking snow removal of streets and sidewalks in its downtown.
